South Africa's Blombos Cave is a major paleotolgocial site that keeps getting in the news. Science magazine has just reported finding tools made with a sophisticated technique previously thought to be only 20 thousand years old. The Blombos finding pushes that back almost three times that age, to 75 thousand years. It has nothing to do with language, but I mention it anyway as news from prehistory.
